World champion athlete Liz McColgan has been cleared of assaulting her husband at their home in Angus. The former Commonwealth Gold runner had been accused of repeatedly punching her husband and throwing his clothes out their house. But Ms Mcolgan said afterwards that her husband had used the incident to try and ruin her. The Scottish Retail Consortium say footfall is down by nine percent in the last quarter. Meanwhile many households look set to cut back their Festive spending. And in sport; The SPL have agreed a new FIVE year TV deal with Sky Sports and ESPN. The near EIGHTY MILLION pound package represents a TWENTY per cent rise in revenue from the old one.
